I grew up surrounded by loving parents, and a mom who told me that I could do whatever I wanted to do and encouraged me to "Dare to Be Different." And being different is what I have done: 1) I started a T-Shirt Business in 1st grade 2) I sold boot-legged copies of audio tapes (Richard Marx, Paula Abdul and Milli-Vanilli) in elementary school before I discovered that it was illegal. 3) I sold large vintage 1980s buttons in 3rd grade. 4) I sold gum out of my locker throughout middle school. 5) I started a DJ Service called "C & J" DJ Service in late my middle school years. 6) I started a T-Shirt Business in early high school. 7) I went to college when I was a senior in high school. 8) I worked construction, at a call-center, as an intern, as the only non-gay waiter at a Tulsa Applebees, sub-contracted as a DJ, remixed and recorded music and put on large dances at Oral Roberts University to raise enough capital to start DJ Connection. 9) I got engaged at age 19. 10) I gave a eulogy for my best friend at age 19. 11) I got married at age 20. 12) I dropped out of college and quit all my jobs at age 20 to pursue my passion of working as a full-time DJ. 13) I was named Tulsa's Entrepreneur of the Year at age 20. 14) I went on to start a lawn care company, a videography company, a chocolate fountain company, a bridal association, and photography company and many other companies. 15) Our great team of DJ men as racked up honors as: *2008 "Best of the Best Wedding Award" Winner - www.weddingmba.com *In October of 2007 DJ Connection became a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business for our team's continued excellence in customer service. *In June of 2007 DJ Connection was featured in the Tulsa World Business Section *During the early summer of 2007 DJ Connection was featured in Oklahoma Magazine's feature entitled "40 under 40" which was an article describing Oklahoma's top 40 entrepreneurs under the age of 40. *DJ Connection received recognition from the "American Wedding Association" as Tulsa's Best Wedding Vendor in 2006. *DJ Connection was named "The number-one DJs in the Tulsa area...They are great party executors" by Modern Bride Magazine in their December/January 2005 edition *Proud members of the Better Business Bureau "Excellence In Customer Service Honor Roll." *DJ Connection was featured in September of 2003 on "Oklahoma's News Channel 8's Good Morning Oklahoma" with Lori Montag of Montag Photography for their role as President and Vice President of the Tulsa Bridal Association respectively.
